This week two properties were broken into. A bungalow in Rack Lane and the Dog and Bull Public House.

The Rack Lane burglary took place between about 9.30pm and 1am. Entry was gained by the offenders taking out a pane of glass at the side of the building. It was an old window so the beads were on the outside and they used a spade belonging to the owner to lever the window out.
Once inside the whole house was searched, at this time its not known what was stolen but large items such as TV’s have been left behind. The suspects then left via the rear of the property by opening a back door from the inside.
The elderly occupants are very shaken and its believed that some irreplaceable family jewellery with great sentimental value may have been taken.
Local enquires have been made by the police and a forensics team are examining the scene.

The Dog and Bull was broken into between 1.30am and 7.30am the suspects attempted to gain access with a crow bar that was found in a shed at the rear of the pub, attempting to force a rear door. Unable to do this they eventually gained access through a rear window. Once inside there was a tidy search, petty cash was stolen and the cigarette machine removed. Meat had been removed from a cold storage locker but had been left on the floor and its thought that they may have been disturbed at this point.
Its also believed that the suspects car was parked in the field next to the pub as there were tracks from the gate and a carpet/blanket draped over the fence.

Any sightings or information can be sent to the local police, PC 3167 Horne is dealing.
