The NCRA Quiz Night held at Newtown Primary School last week was a great success as funds were raised to help improve the play and park facilities.

Councillor Goode and her husband Mark were busy with the preparations along with Rebecca Hanbury who assisted greatly before the quiz!

Thanks to headteacher Ben Compton for allowing the use of the hall.

Anne Lokier pulled a blinder by obtaining a fabulous raffle prize and halftime cheese and biscuits from Belton Cheese.

Zoë Grant (Chair) would also like to extend her thanks to Carrie Rutter (Deputy Chair) who helped her organise and donate all the nibbles for the evening, the picture round quizzes and the prizes for the quiz.  In total, the evening raised £289 which will go towards the charity maintaining the play park and facilities (which costs £2,000 a year to keep open).

The Co Op, the Castle, Sunshine Celebrations were local businesses who kindly donated raffle prizes as did a number of local residents.

Northwood Nurseries generously donated a huge pumpkin and loaned Councillor Julia gourds to enhance the autumn theme decorations.

Councillor Goode would very much like to extend her gratitude to fellow Parish Councillor Jan Hilditch and all of the residents who came along to support this great cause.

A great night was had by all!
