The Council is committed to supporting local community groups and is delighted to announce that the following grants and funding have been awarded in 2024:
- SYA – Wem Senior Youth Club to replace sports equipment – £275.29
- Newtown Parish Church to maintain the churchyard – £500
- Friends of Whitchurch Cemetery to maintain the cemetery – £500
- 1st Wem Scouts to help with running costs – £500
- Edstaston Village Hall for a new noticeboard from CiL Neighbourhood Fund— £435.53
- NCRA to top-up the play bark from CiL Neighbourhood Fund – £1,500
- Wem Carnival to help with running costs – £500
- St Mary’s Church Edstaston for upkeep of church and churchyard – £400
- Wem Town Hall to support young people with disabilities—£610
