Plans on schedule for Business Fair

Wem Business Fair will be held on Wednesday 17 October at Wem Town Hall between 3pm and 6.30pm and is an initiative by Wem Economic Forum.

Wem Rural Parish Councillor and local businessman, Richard Powell, is one of the organisers.  Richard explained, “There are no two ways about it and I know from personal experience, running a business today can be a daunting task so the Wem Economic Forum decided to organise an event specifically for the business community.  Wem Business Fair will be a free event for everyone who is in business, self-employment and even those just thinking about setting up their own business in the Wem area. This will be a fantastic opportunity to find out the latest information from experts in their field and to meet up with fellow business people.”

Chair of the Wem Economic Forum, Shropshire Councillor Pauline Dee, is excited with the exhibitors the Fair has attracted so far “BT, HMRC, the Federation of Small Businesses, NFU Mutual, County Training and specialist departments from Shropshire Council have all accepted invitations to attend.  We are thrilled that John Waine, Director of The Best of Oswestry and many of the festivals in Oswestry, has agreed to attend and pass on his knowledge and experiences.  With a wide range of exhibitors, information and advice available can anyone afford not to come along?”

The Fair will also offer advice on setting up a business or becoming self-employed, one-to-one business clinics, information on grants and training and the opportunity for businesses to join a local directory through placing their details on a ‘B2B’ board on the day.
