Cycle Safari – Edstaston to Wem Moss and back! @ Edstaston Village Hall
Sep 14 @ 11:00 am – 2:30 pm

Meeting at 11am at Edstaston Village Hall (SY4 5RF) or 11.30am from Newtown School (SY4 5NU) to cycle to Wem Moss on quiet lanes (approximately 12 miles from Edstaston and 10 miles from Newtown) led by trained ride leaders.

View a map of the route through this link.

On arrival at Wem Moss the group will be met by a Meres and Mosses guide for a tour of this fascinating landscape and lunch (NB please bring your own picnic and drinks).

Cycle back to Newtown School at around 2.30pm…. or continue on to Edstaston Village Hall where refreshments (tea, coffee, cold drinks and cakes) will be available to purchase.

FREE

ALL AGES WELCOME  (under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult)

For further information please phone Emma Bullard from the Travel Shropshire Team on 0799 008 6191 or look at Travel Shropshire website by using this link.

Please make sure your bike is roadworthy; with tyres pumped up and working brakes. “Hybrid” and mountain bikes will be most suitable for this ride – if you have a “road” bike with skinny tyres you may have to walk for a short unsurfaced section.

We will leave our bikes at Wem Moss for a short tour of the nature reserve on foot, so please bring bike locks. It’s recommended that you wear long trousers, long-sleeved tops and don’t wear sandals (even if the weather is hot!) as the ground at Wem Moss can be boggy and there are nettles and brambles.
