The Great British Spring Clean @ The Lowe

Back for its eighth year, The Great British Spring Clean is the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign.

Wem Rural Parish Council are again taking part in this Keep Britain Tidy campaign and are inviting more volunteers to join in to help pick up litter around the parish.

The Great British Spring CleanThe event is being held on Saturday 15th April 2023 from 9.30am to 12noon.

Bin bags and litter pickers will be provided. Please wear high-viz clothing if you have any.

We will meet on the grass verge near the Lowe Noticeboard (please don’t stand on the road).

If you run a business that is in the parish then Wem Rural Parish Council would like to invite you to drop in for a FREE Breakfast  from 8am-10am on Wednesday 28th June at the Happy Café on Wem Industrial Estate.

This is an opportunity for you to meet with other business leaders and find out more about what support is available for your business.

We’d like as many people as possible to come and share ideas and take part in organising a local event for International Women’s Day.
 
This is a public working group and available for everyone to attend.
 
Please support the Horse & Jockey Community Pub by buying refreshments. They are doing a special price of £4.95 for coffee and cake.

Annual Parish Meeting @ Edstaston Village Hall

Wem Rural Parish Council would like to invite you to attend the Annual Parish Meeting. This is your opportunity to meet other parishioners and local councillors and to raise questions, matters of current concern or future ambitions for the Parish.

The theme for this year’s parish meeting is Rural Crime and West Mercia Police will be joining us to share ways to prevent rural crime, listen to any concerns and to remind us about the importance of reporting crime.

5pm – Welcome & refreshments and meet local Parish Councillors

5.30pm – Presentation

6.00pm – Q&A

7.00pm – Finish
