Wem Rural Parish Council is delighted to announce monthly community drop-ins at Edstaston Village Hall, starting on 15th January 2025. Held on the third Wednesday of every month from 10 am to 12 noon, these events aim to bring residents together while providing access to vital support services.

Why It Matters in Rural Communities
In a rural parish like Wem Rural, where homes and villages can feel far apart, fostering connections is essential. Isolation can be a real challenge, and opportunities to meet others, share experiences, and access advice can make a world of difference. These drop-ins provide a space for residents to feel part of a supportive community, whether they’re seeking practical help or simply a friendly chat.

What’s On Offer?
• Age UK Digital Skills Programme
Learn to navigate the digital world with confidence! Age UK will help attendees master basic IT skills, from sending emails to accessing vital online services.

• Shropshire Armed Forces Outreach
Supporting military personnel, veterans, and their families, this service offers advice on housing, benefits, health, employment, and more. It’s also a chance to connect socially, reducing isolation and ensuring access to the right support from trusted organisations.

Strengthening Our Parish
These drop-ins reflect the Parish Council’s commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of residents by offering resources tailored to their needs and creating opportunities to build meaningful relationships. By working together, we can ensure Wem Rural remains a place where everyone feels supported and connected.
