Wem Rural Parish Council is excited to announce the return of International Women’s Day, following the success of last year’s event, which was North Shropshire’s first and only celebration of this global initiative. Last year’s event brought together local women for a day filled with inspiration, empowerment, and practical workshops, thanks to the support of businesses and partners in the region. The event served as a platform for women to share their achievements and experiences, raising awareness about ongoing gender issues and promoting equality.

For 2025, we aim to build on this success and make the event even bigger, with more opportunities for women to connect, learn, and celebrate. To achieve this, we need your help!

Shropshire Council has already pledged £1,141 towards the project, but the funds will only be released once we secure at least 20 backers and meet our overall fundraising target. Your support is essential—whether you can donate or share the project with others, every contribution counts.

Your backing will help us to host a celebratory community event in honour of International Women’s Day 2025

We’re aiming to build on last year’s achievements, where children, young people and women participated in the event, volunteered, and took part in hands-on craft workshops. The overwhelmingly positive feedback showed just how valuable these opportunities are to our community, and we’re excited to keep that momentum going.

To back the project and help us reach our goal, visit Spacehive – International Women’s Day 2025. Let’s come together once again to make this event an inspiring success for women in Wem Rural and beyond.

Thank you for your support!
