Wem Rural Parish Council is reaching out to local businesses for a vital sponsorship opportunity that can make a significant difference in our community’s safety and well-being. We are seeking sponsors to support the acquisition and maintenance of defibrillators and bleed kits throughout the Parish.
Why Defibrillators Are Important
Defibrillators, or Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), are crucial life-saving devices used to restore a normal heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). SCA can strike unexpectedly, and immediate access to a defibrillator can dramatically increase the chances of survival. These devices are designed for use by individuals with minimal training and can be pivotal in emergency situations where every second counts.
Current Defibrillator Locations
Wem Rural Parish is already equipped with several defibrillators, strategically placed to ensure accessibility during emergencies. The locations of these life-saving devices are:
- Outside Newtown School, Newtown: Positioned for easy access by the local community and visitors.
- Outside The Horse and Jockey, Northwood: Located in a popular social area to serve both patrons and local residents.
- Outside The Bull and Dog, Coton: Available for use by those in and around the Coton area.
- Edstaston Village Hall: Centrally located to serve the Edstaston community.
Bleed Kits
In addition to defibrillators, we are also looking to provide and maintain bleed kits. These kits contain essential supplies for managing severe bleeding until professional medical help arrives. They are an important complement to defibrillators and can be invaluable in a range of emergency situations.
