Parish councillors Liz Vernon, Julia Goode, Peter Broomhall and Chair Huw Edwards were delighted to join the community for a sunny coffee morning at Edstaston Village Hall, celebrating the completion of the hall’s impressive new extension. This milestone event brought local residents together for a cheerful morning of conversation and indulgent cakes.
The success of the new extension wouldn’t have been possible without the Edstaston Village Hall Committee, whose hard work and dedication made it all happen. Special recognition goes to Bev Horsley, who played a pivotal role in securing the vital funding needed for the project. Bev’s successful applications to the Big Lottery Fund and Wem Rural Parish Council brought in the grants that helped transform the village hall into an enhanced community space.
The event was also graced by Helen Morgan MP, who attended as a guest of honour, showing her support for the village and its development. Helen’s presence highlighted the importance of community efforts and collaborative projects.
Adding to the joyful atmosphere, Annie organised fun children’s crafting activities, which kept the young attendees entertained throughout the morning.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined in celebrating this achievement. The new extension is sure to become a hub for future events, and we look forward to many more successful gatherings at Edstaston Village Hall
