Councillor Jan Hilditch, Councillor Len Staines and Councillor Julia Goode recently attended the Drop-In session at Wem Town Library.
This was hosted by PC Harper and PC Millerchip.
As members of Wem Rural Parish Council, rural crime was discussed and some very helpful and constructive comments were given. These will be gone into more deeply in the pre-Christmas edition of Rural Review.
One particular area of concern is that if you or someone you know has been the victim of a crime, it is vital that it should be reported.
PC Harper stressed that if they don’t know about an issue then they can’t do anything.
The Police Station is now located at Aston House and it will be possible to speak to an officer, however, it is recommended to phone or email in advance to make an appointment as this station is not continuously manned.
PC Harper is now the regular PC in light of Liam Heathcote now being Acting Sergeant.
We would like to thank both officers for their time, and PC Millerchip for having joined us from Market Drayton All in all a very constructive meeting.
